Seventeen years ago, a petite girl entered the world in an American maternity hospital, leaving both doctors and her young mother astonished.

The baby measured only 28 centimeters in height and weighed less than 1 kilogram.

Despite the initial prognosis that children with such measurements might not have a long life, the parents refused to lose hope, and the baby miraculously survived.

The girl was later diagnosed with a genetic disease, even though no one else in her immediate family had such a condition.
