I love desserts and sweet treats, but I’m not the most skilled baker. Simple recipes like chocolate chip cookies aren’t a problem, but cakes and more elaborate desserts? I stay away from them. However, when I came across this recipe for cheesecake in a jar, I knew it was something I could handle. This recipe is quick, easy, and makes the perfect single-serve sweet treat.
Cheesecake in a jar is a much more forgiving version of cheesecake. This recipe involves less ingredients and far less steps. In small glass mason jars, you build the three parts of a traditional cheesecake: the crust, the filling, and the topping. Pop on the lid, place in the fridge, and you’re all done!
The only things you need for the crust are some crushed graham crackers and melted butter. The filling is a simple combination of cream cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla. And the toppings are whatever you want! Fresh fruit like blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries is always great, but crushed Oreos or a lemon crumble would also be delicious.
This simple recipe is perfect for a birthday party or really any sort of event where you’ve been charged with bringing a dessert. I’m even tempted to make a batch and stick them in the fridge for a single-serve, after-dinner treat! Find the full recipe here. I’m no baker, but I’m actually excited to make this one!
