Latest Tour Cancellation
Willie Nelson has canceled another tour appearance, this time without announcing a return date. On Wednesday, just hours before his scheduled performance in Virginia Beach, a note was posted on Nelson’s social media, informing fans that the 91-year-old singer would not be able to perform as planned.
Recent Developments
This announcement follows Nelson’s cancellation of his tour opener in Georgia a few days earlier due to feeling unwell. Initially, on June 21, Nelson canceled his first scheduled performance of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour, citing doctor’s orders to rest for four days with an expectation of quick recovery and return to the tour the following week.
However, less than a week later, Nelson announced another cancellation for the Virginia Beach show.
Impact on Performances
Despite Nelson’s absence, other artists like Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and Celisse were still scheduled to perform. Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson, and his band were also set to play their own set, including some of Willie Nelson’s classic songs.
Future Uncertainty
As of June 27, Nelson’s website lists his next scheduled tour date in Syracuse, NY on June 28, but given the uncertainty surrounding his health, it remains unclear if Nelson will be able to perform.
