The Barber’s Challenge
A young boy enters a barber shop. The barber leans toward his customer and whispers, “This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it.”
The Test
To illustrate his point, the barber places a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other. He then calls the boy over and asks, “Which do you want, son?”
Without hesitation, the boy grabs the quarters and leaves the shop.
The Barber’s Surprise
The barber chuckles and tells his customer, “What did I tell you? That kid never learns!”
A Chance Encounter
Later, as the customer exits, he spots the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store. Curious, he calls out, “Hey, son! Can I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?”
The Boy’s Wisdom
The boy licks his ice cream cone and replies with a grin, “Because the day I take the dollar, the game is over!”
