A fearful dog, later named Bear, was discovered by a motorist on a secluded road in the Evan’s Creek Mountains. Bear, starving and aggressive, refused to allow anyone near him.

When Amanda learned about Bear, she changed her plans and chose to help him right away, despite her family’s cautions about the dangers.

The Search Begins.
Amanda and her buddy Dylan set off on a search for Bear, despite his elusive nature and unwillingness to be addressed.

After futile attempts to entice Bear with food and other techniques, Amanda decided to “play dead” in an attempt to gain his trust.

Bear’s Touching Gesture
After hours of lying immobile, Bear approached Amanda, as if she needed aid. He stayed by her side and ultimately sat close to her.

Winning Bear’s Trust
Amanda gradually won Bear’s trust and persuaded him to accompany her to the car and then to the vet.

A happy ending.
Bear received therapy, healed, and was adopted by a kind family, no longer having to fend for himself on the streets.

After a few more hours, Amanda was able to win Bear’s confidence and convince him that he just had her best interests in mind. Bear accompanied Amanda to the car where they immediately drove to the vet.

Bear was treated and given care, and once he recovered his strength, a family opted to adopt him a short while later. The dog is no longer forced to live on the streets because he now has a loving family and a place of his own.
