Joshua Newville and Emily Leehan, both soldiers in the US military, got married while on leave. Gage, Joshua’s four-year-old son, was present at the ceremony.

During the solemn moment of the vows, Gage’s reaction was touching; he started crying and jumped into his stepmother’s arms.

The little boy was moved by the words of the woman who was to become his stepmother.

“I want you to be safe and try your hardest to be a good person,” were the bride’s words that made young Gage burst into tears and hold her tightly.

“I hope you know you’re a very special boy.

You’ve helped me become the woman I am today, and even though I didn’t give you the gift of life, you are a gift to me.”

These were just a few of the words Emily managed to say through tears while her husband tried to comfort the little one.
