The Schwandts are seasoned parents, with a brood of fourteen boys ranging in age from 25 to 2. With such a large family, their expectations for their newest addition were turned upside down.
Imagine their surprise when baby Finley arrived, weighing a healthy 8 pounds, 4 ounces! But it was Finley’s middle name that truly made heads turn. Known as “Sheyboygan,” this unique name stems from a story shared by Kateri’s father about a Native American chief who had many sons. So, in a way, Finley is “a boy again.”
“Kateri and I know this is our last child since we’re both in our 40s now,” Jay shared. Despite knowing this, they savored every moment of the pregnancy, cherishing the opportunity to expand their family once more. Just like with their first child, both parents couldn’t contain their excitement.
Finley joins his thirteen adoring brothers: Tyler (25), Zach (22), Drew (21), Brandon (19), Tommy (16), Vinny (15), Calvin (12), Gabe (11), Wesley (9), Charlie (8), Luke (6), Tucker (4), and Francisco (2). Although Jay and Kateri had hoped for a daughter, they are thrilled to welcome another son into their loving family.
