The Challenge of Changing Diapers in Public
Ask any parent—changing a child’s diaper in public is no easy task. It’s often necessary, but public restrooms, especially men’s, are rarely equipped with the right facilities. As a result, parents must get creative to manage the situation.
Creativity vs. Decency
However, there’s a fine line between being resourceful and crossing into unacceptable behavior. One Redditor recently found himself confronting a couple at a restaurant over this very issue.
The Confrontation
A 24-year-old man shared his experience on the “Am I the A******” subreddit, questioning a couple’s actions. He explained that while dining with his girlfriend at a mid-range restaurant, he witnessed a couple change their baby’s diaper at the table. They even left the soiled diaper sitting at the end of the table, closest to his.
The diaper remained there for about 15 minutes, and the Redditor felt disgusted. He even thought he could smell the diaper. When his food arrived, he politely asked the couple to dispose of it.
The Argument
This led to an exchange between the two tables, which didn’t resolve the issue. The man at the other table questioned why he should move the diaper, to which the Redditor responded that it was gross to eat near human waste, especially when there was a changing station and trash can in the bathroom. The other man responded harshly, telling him to mind his own business.
Aftermath
The Redditor’s girlfriend didn’t think he was wrong for bringing it up but suggested he might have been better off leaving the issue alone.
