John’s Thrilling Safari Story
John recently came back from an exhilarating African safari and quickly visited his friend, Mark, to recount his incredible adventure.
The Encounter
“I was exploring the jungle,” John started. “Suddenly, I heard a rustling noise behind me.
When I turned around, an enormous lion was there, licking its chops and grinning at me.
The lion began to advance, so I ran, with the lion chasing me.”
The Chase
“Just as the lion was closing in, it slipped. This gave me a slight edge, but soon it was catching up again.
When it got close once more, it slipped again! Luckily, I saw a house in the distance and sprinted towards it.
With my remaining strength, I reached the house. The lion was almost on top of me, but it slipped for the third time at the last moment.
I dashed inside and slammed the door shut, just as the lion’s face nearly came through.”
Mark’s Reaction
“Wow, John! That’s an unbelievable story. I would have been scared out of my wits!” Mark exclaimed.
John, grinning, replied, “Well, WHAT DO YOU THINK THE LION KEPT SLIPPING ON?”
