Responding to the Call

When Ben Sowards, a father from Utah, USA, received a call from his 6-year-old daughter, he knew he had to rush to her school right away. Valeria had suffered a minor accident. It wasn’t dangerous, but Ben knew his little girl would feel embarrassed after wetting her pants.

A Dad’s Clever Plan

Before heading to pick up his daughter, Ben came up with an idea. He wanted to make the situation less distressing for Valeria, so he decided to make her laugh instead. Ben poured water on his own pants before driving to the school, according to the Huffington Post.

The Big Reveal

When Ben arrived, he asked Valeria if he could borrow her school bag because he needed to “hide” something. Valeria was puzzled, but then she noticed the big wet stain on her dad’s pants.

As soon as she saw her dad in the “same” situation, things were okay. “I knew she was mortified, but I thought if I could make her laugh, everything would be fine,” Ben said. “She was totally exasperated, but once she saw my pants, I got that look from her where I knew everything was OK. All dads know what look I’m talking about. We just strolled out of the school like nothing was happening.”

A Father’s Love and Ingenuity

Ben could have just driven to school to pick his daughter up, but he went the extra mile to make sure she didn’t feel embarrassed. What a fantastic dad!
